Ode to Kara

Kara is leaving for a romantic weekend away with her husband who loves her. They are off to Seattle to stay in a ritzy hotel and dine out. They even get to ride in a limo. I was thinking about that because I want to go away with my husband who loves me and eat out, too. That, and I get to spend a few hours with Kara's daughter whom I adore.
The unfortunate part is that I do not have a husband who loves me. I have none at all. Which is a good deal better than having a husband who doesn't love me....but I digress.
Kara....
She's one of the most interesting people I know. That could be because I have always known her, so there are not a lot of secrets, and that makes her interesting. Or, maybe she just really is a fascinating person.
Her mother and my mother became close friends in their early 20's, and so we grew up in close proximity to one another. Now, Kara and I are close, (and our mothers are still close), so our children are growing up in close proximity to one another. That's a 3 generation friendship. We're practically family!
There's a lot to be said for permanence.
Kara has 3 kids. Two boys and that beautiful girl. A' is the oldest, he is nearly 9. C' is the well-adjusted middle child at 5 (or is he 6 yet?). And M' is her pixie-of-a-daughter, she is 4. Her kids all play really well with my kids, and they are similarly parented, so that makes it easy.
A' is artistic and deep, and prone to be goofy. He takes himself pretty seriously, though. He and D' are fast friends. C' is dramatic and sensitive and shy in public. He plays great with my boys, too. M' is Dramatic and Girly, and can kick the boys with an impish grin. We are going to betroth her to my M.' (I wonder if they'll go for that?) I want Kara to have more girls so that I can marry one to D'. Although, I think I still want him to marry his second cousin. It that weird?
Neither one of my boys is likely to really let me pick wives for them, huh?
Kara has this laid back personality that seems to go-with-the-flow. She's really smart, and organized in all the right places. This woman's house is well decorated and clean at all times. I need to figure out how to do that. She is the only healthy woman on Planet Earth who honestly forgets to eat. I need to figure out how to do that, too. She has a life story that includes such a variety of people and events, and she is not easily shocked. That makes her very real and level-headed.
Compare that to my shy, reticent, and somber personality!
Now that I have told you all about this woman that you either don't know at all, or know very well....I am off to find breakfast.
I've had way too much coffee!
And so I ramble on.....

Does that mean you want D' to marry J' or D'? I'm guessing you are thinking younger for him, but I'm not quite sure.

I know I met Kara once, but I can't remember what she looks like.

My mom's only lifelong friend has younger children. Her oldest is maybe 15 now, so that doesn't really go so well with us three Js.

I always have though that my D' and Jenine's J' would be a good match. Keep it in the family!

My Grandma and Grandpa on my mom's side are second-cousins--but my Grandma was adopted. :-)
