I told you about the book Eragon, right? We ran to the store last night and put the sequel on my credit card. It was that important.
My children and I read for about three hours before bed last night. This is what people do when they don't watch TV. I explain this because most people don't know what to do without a TV. It's very cozy, me and my children reading into the night.
I can't put this book down. Except to blog, of course.
I am Arya in the book. I am an elf with super powers and really long black hair. And I am a really good fighter. Forget my visions of being Laura Croft, now I am an elf. Elves are way stronger and more beautiful and just cooler than humans.
I wonder if the Christian Establishment will condemn me for loving this book? It's hard to know whether they will put it into the Tolkien/Lewis category or the Satan (aka Harry Potter) category. I think it was written by a homeschooled kid, so it's probably going to be well received. Harry Potter was writen by a single welfare mom, so I can kind of sympathise with her. I would totally write a controversial book if it meant that I could provide for my kids. That's a pretty good idea, as a matter of fact.
So go get Eragon, and dream of Elves and dragons.

You, my friend, are such a cool mom.
I, on the other hand, have no patience for fantasy, which makes me very uncool.
Love you.
