Insomnia

I am overcome with African Sleeping Sickness.
My alarm CD thingy blared an overly chipper Amy Grant at me for an hour before I was awake enough to know what planet I was on. (Her perky self is supposed to have me flying out of bed and accross the room to hit the "off" button. Does she have that effect on you?)
It's like a rebellion in my system, because I can't sleep during normal times, and I am sleeping when I oughtn't. For instance, I have been falling asleep near midnight quite regularly lately, when everyone knows that I sleep best between the hours of 7 pm and 12 midnight. Mornings? I do well when I am sipping coffee by 6, and singing a welcome to the day. Lately? Not so much.
It's either a mid-life crisis or too much caffeine. The line between the two is blurred. I suppose it could be other things. A lack of physical activity. Debilitating depression. The approaching summer solstice. Who knows?
God has been very good to me, though. I have a job that allows me to wear my pajamas all day. Not everyone does, you know.
And I can nap sometimes. I love naps.

Yes, I do believe having to listen to Amy Grant would drive me out of bed! Probably leave me in a bad mood as well for the rest of the day!

I was more of an early Sheila Walsh fan....
