My boy killed a bear. A really big one. Apparently it's a 'Boone and Crockett', which means something for the record books. You have never, in your life, seen a child so proud. Can I still refer to him as a 'child' now that he has met, and mastered, a 300pound wild animal? If ever there was a test for manhood, I'm thinking that would be it.
I have been assured that there are photos somewhere of this remarkable event. I will post them when I get them.
The hide and skull are at the taxidermist's. We won't have the bear rug until Spring.
I am so proud of my boy...I mean 'man.'
Meanwhile, back at the ranch....
My house is eerily quiet this morning. The kids are still sleeping, and I need to get them up soon to pursue their academic endeavors. My goals for the day are a bit agressive. Fall is here, and I have yet to finish the summer yard work. The ARC is coming tomorrow to collect my donations and I have yet to finish that project.
There's lots to do!
Plus, the coffee is kicking in, and I need to spring into action.
Have a fantastic day, everyone.

That poor bear.
Congrats M'!
Wow, super congrats to the mighty BAR killer! Hope Idaho bears taste better than Colorado bears did. Even my dog ran when he smelled the meat.

Why does it make me laugh so hard to know that you have a taxidermist?
