Hi
I sqeezed into my jeans today. I noticed that the meal yesterday may have done some damage. It was so good, anyway.
Now the real holiday season is underway, which means that snow should be around the corner, and I will begin stressing full-time. I can't buy you a present this year. K? I didn't get you one last year, either. This year I am committed to spend only cash. No Credit at all. I've never done Christmas that way before.
I wrote out a list of those who absolutely must have a gift for Christmas, and a list of all the December birthdays. Then, I estimated a reasonable budget. It was $700.00. So, I cut it in half, then looked at my projected income. I wonder what the kids would do if I really, really didn't give them anything? Do you think they could grow up well-balanced and normal?
I could give Tim a kiss, each of the kids a hug, I'll promise to kick the dog less, and we should be good to go. Merry Christmas.

Our budget for Christmas is in the $250 range plus our annual charity extravaganza. So I think we're doing pretty well. I figure if my son grows up always having small Christmases, like I grew up with, he'll never expect me to spend thousands on him. We'll see if that works!
No the kids could grow up warped and demented like me! As for the dog, well it might think you do not love him as much! And, well, maybe give Tim a punch card for the kisses. Need to ration them you know!
Interesting post much along the lines as I have been thinking this year. Except I am not going to kiss Tim!
After our trip to Romania I am inclined to do absolutely no shopping...but alas, my mother gave me $ to do HER shopping forthe grandkids, so they will get stuff from her...but I could do without the stuff this year...I think the most memorable gift I ever gave was a nice hallmark card with a personal leter I wrote my husband and kids...they all kept them, and cried when they read them. I think maybe I'll do that again this year...just an idea forya.
hugs~
