Old, Older, Eldest

Well, Cathy, I am glad you asked:
Mother is moving because she is old.
Old, I tell you! It's about time she got old, too.
Now that she is, in fact, old, she wants for a home with no maintenance. Therefore, she kicked out the last of her messy daughters, and picked out a townhouse. Her townhouse is a luxury townhouse with others to mow the lawn. She has expensive appliances and plenty of space. This is no Duplex! She and her AARP card are off to enjoy... anything she wants.
When I am old, I shall not wear purple. I shall wear whatever strikes my fancy. Gold Lame. Lycra. Who knows? I might just wear lovely dresses with lace and petticoats. Who's gonna stop me?
She is sorting through things, deciding what she wants to keep and what to replace. It is such fun! Can you imagine picking out any home you want? And then furnishing it any way you want to? Not even my rich married friends have such abandon, they all have husbands who limit them.
Today, we helped her to, well, eat lunch. I went over to help clean and pack, but she wasn't home yet. I did clean a little, but the boys and I kept having to read just one more chapter before springing back into action. Once she came home, she immediately invited us out for lunch and that was the end of our work.
She offered to pay me. Can you imagine? Pay me for what, exactly? I rubbed some Lysol about between chapters.
It's this sequel to Eragon. It's called Eldest. We can't put it down. It's very time consuming.
And, no Cathy, I am not really a cool Mom. It's escapism.

You can argue with me until the cows come home, but I'll always believe you're cool.

Why am I sad about your Mother moving? That is so weird.

You know, given your age, I maybe closer to your mother's than yours! But, I do not feel old and I certainly do not want to wear 'gold lame'. Cyan blue spandex maybe - just to scare the young people with what happens in middle age.

Ha, ha, ha!

I have taken to wearing bikinis in public, just to scare the young ones. It's quite amusing.
Yes, I am sad about Mother moving, too, Cath. Thank you for your confidence in my coolness.
