The three faces of Me

It's a good thing I posess such a sunny disposition. It's like my own special kind of denial.

The week has not been all bad, overall. Just intense.

We started this new home school schedule.

It looks like this:

6 am. up, and read my bible. Wish I had the energy to go for a little run before the kids get underfoot. Realize I don't. Drink coffee.

7 am. boys up, extra children arrive, a 2-year-old, a set of brothers who come at 6 on Th, or the boy from across the street. Noise level increases.

8-12 am. chase the baby around, switch the laundry, mess up the kitchen, try to educate the youth of America

12-5 pm. work from my office , also football practice 3-5, boys do independant schooling stuff and chores, I fix snacks, kiss booboos, drive kids around, mediate childish disagreements, and actually attempt real work from my real office. Accept the fact that I am a failure.

5-7 pm dinner, mess the kitchen, various extra children get picked up here and there.

7-9 pm errands, general chores, wondering where the day went, wine, whine

9 kids to bed, plus stories, prayers, and tickle time

10 me to bed ..only I can't wind down until after 11, so I am a zombie come morning

Did you see the part where I do yard work?
No?
What about the part where I go out to lunch with my friends? The gym? How about the part where my kitchen gets cleaned? Where's the kung fu lesson?

Yeah, it's like that.

Did I tell you about the time that Celise and I figured out the hous in our day? She is a single mom, too. We did it like this:

Hours in a day= 24.

Full time employment=8-10 hrs a day

Home education= 6

sleeping= 8

housework= 2 maybe

personal grooming= huh?

meal prep= 2 or so.
opps, I am already over my hours....

friends, dates, blogging..............nevermind. It was a stupid and depresing excercise anyway. The point of it was that a single mom can fill a single hour with the activity and acomplishments of one breadwinner, one homemaker, and one really grumpy woman. It's like a multiple personality disorder.

As I was saying, it's a good thing I have such a sunny disposition. Or hadn't you noticed?

This sounds like my wife's day - less the outside the home job. Or did I get that wrong - you're the wife and mother like mine: when people ask if she works, I answer "harder than I do!"

I like your blog, and found it because of your interest in Bible. Wanted to share my devotional with you. It's called "Just A Thot" at http://childogod.blogspot.com

Please leave a comment so I know you've visited. See ya in your "spare time!"
