You just never know what kind of an encouragement you could be.
I received an email that was sent a month ago, which is entirely due to my negligence. Most of the email in my inbox is from facebook or some person overseas who wants me to send them money, so I see no point in checking it daily. If I received more frequent personal notes, I would certainly be tempted to reevaluate my stance.
I received an email that spoke just right to the heart of me, and it has added a spring to my step.
That spring in my step has contributed to a couple fantastic workouts, and a much cleaner house.
The recent increase in energy probably also has a lot to do with my thyroid medication, which has caused a change within me like unto a resurrection from the dead. Hypothyroidism is a curse from the pit of Hell, if you ask me. I've spent the past year in a fog, whilst gaining weight. Never has a buoyant person been so sluggish. Nor so chubby. The newfound energy has revolutionized my exercise regimen as well as my approach to the refrigerator. This girth has got to go.
Another symptom of this thyroid malfunction is something they call "brain fog." This abhorrent condition is an utter lack of brainwave activity. Nada. None. I've been without discernible intellect, and I haven't metabolized enough nutrition to care. So, now that this medication has kicked in, I am feeling much brighter. I'm more interested in the world around me, too, which might explain why I checked email. Which brings us back to the original point. You didn't know there was one, did you?
There is so much power in words. God created using nothing but His Words. So often I am most aware of the power of words when I am wielding them for destruction, or suffering as someone else does. To be the recipient of kind words is a balm to the aches of my very soul.
I need to be looking for ways that I can give the gift of words. It's such a little thing, and it costs only a little bit of thought. Why don't I give that more often?
Let's you and me resolve to uplift someone with unexpected words today. A few lines in the mail, a text message, or an email....somehow, let's indulge this God-like power to create something beautiful.

You give me a gift of words each time I read your blog, Kelly. By the way, I've been memorizing in Proverbs, my latest was 25:11!
